• AS OPPOSED TO THE OFTEN PROTECTIVE CURATORIAL PROTOCOLS OF INSTITUTIONS, ART-DIRECTION CAN EXTEND THE MEANING OF ART AS IT TRAVELS BETWEEN MEDIUMS, SEARCHING FOR RESONANT CONTEXTS

LINDA & DANIELA DOSTÁLKOVÁ are a Prague-based artist duo. Linda holds degrees from Werkplaats Typografie (2015) and the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno (2005) and was a researcher at the Jan van Eyck Academy (2016). Daniela studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland (2009) and graduated from J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (2006) and Silesian University, Opava (2003). Since 2018, both sisters have been working as curators at the PLATO City Gallery of Contemporary Art. They are represented by Piktogram Gallery in Warsaw, Poland. Their work investigates animal protection and welfare, activism, and commodification. Recently, their focus has expanded to gastronomy and the food industry. Their exhibitions include the Centre Pompidou, LISTE Art Basel, Kunsthalle Bern, and the Art Encounters Biennial. Dostálková are a Prague-based artist duo. SHEZAD DAWOOD is a multidisciplinary artist who interweaves stories, realities and symbolism to create richly layered artworks, spanning painting, textiles, sculpture, film and digital media. Fascinated by ecologies and architecture, his work takes a philosophical approach, asking questions and exploring alternative futures through what Dawood describes as ‘world-building’. His practice is animated by research, working with multiple audiences and communities to delve into narrative, history and embodiment. Dawood has exhibited at institutions including: MoMA, the ICA, WIELS, the Venice Biennale, Gwangju and Sharjah Biennales and Manifesta. Selected collections include: Guggenheim; Tate; LACMA; National Gallery of Canada; British Museum and Kiran Nadar Museum of Art.
MARIA LISOGORSKAYA - architect, artist and cofounder of award winning London studio Assemble. As well as co-directing the practice, she is active as Assemble Royal Academician at the Royal Academy of Arts, consultant to Material Institute in New Orleans, and more recently in her fresco painting work. Maria is interested in how we build - our relationship to materials and to each other. Most recently completed and current projects include Le Magasin Électrique, a new workspace for the LUMA Foundation in Arles, a mixed use arts centre development in Treviso Italy, Summer Exhibition Architecture Rooms at the RA, new build rural buildings in Japan and an art installation at the Beta Biennale.
